Sunday 3rd December – National Tree Week & Christmas Crafts

There will be no Christmas Crafts this year but this open day will comprise tours of the Grounds to see the Specimen & Special Trees and also tours to see the latest developments on the Hall. We will be open from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm. Admission will be £2.00 for Adults and Children will be free.  Drinks & Biscuits will be available.

Tours schedule:

Tree Walk Tours – 11.15 am & 1.15 pm  (c. 45 Mins)

Heritage Tours – 12 Noon to 12.15 pm  and 2.00 pm to 2.15 pm  ( 30 – 45 mins)

(NB: There will be a staggered start for the Heritage Tours with 3 tours starting at 5 minutes intervals in order to keep groups smaller)

We strongly recommend that for this event you come prepared with proper walking shoes/boots or wellingtons as our paths can become muddy at this time of the year. Please also note that disabled access is now very limited due to the development work occupying areas we previously used.

Volunteers Days

Over Winter Dates to be advised

Volunteers should arrive from 10:00am and can assist in various jobs in the grounds. Other specific jobs may be arranged. Volunteers days are being re-arranged under the control of the Grounds Sub-Commitee. Please come in suitable clothing for the day and bring whatever refreshments are required. Please note that the day will end approximately 4:00 pm or earlier depending on the number of Volunteers present. There is no need to stay all afternoon but it would be helpful if you can advise the time you propose to attend. Email:

Future Events

Note:  There will not be an Open Day on the 1st January, 2018.

Snowdrop Sundays will operate on the 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th February, 2018.

We are expecting to be Open on Easter Sunday – 1st April, 2018 for our usual Easter Event.

Further details on these events will follow.

Please note that as Restoration work on the Hall has now commenced, we have restricted access to the Grounds and we are not always able to run our events as previously.  We regret that our woodland paths may not be suitable for disabled visitors in wheelchairs at this time. We also advise that in the winter months visitors should come in suitable footwear as some of the newly created paths may become muddy at times.
